He gave the evil a face as Dracula or Saruman (Lord Of The Rings). No he lends his voice for Heavy Metal. On March, 29th, the single "The Magic Of The Wizard's Dream" has been released. TV Digital: Movie-Legend Christopher Lee sings together with the italian Metal-Band Rhapsody, produced by Manowar's Bass-Player, the loudest band of the world. Crazy combination, isn't it? Christopher Lee: Thats exactly the fine at it: it's so unusual! This kind of music is a totally new world for me. TV Digital: How do you find together? Christopher Lee: Actually Rhapsody just wanted me for the part of the teller on their CD. After I spoke my parts, i sang a little bit. The boys meant: "My god, we didn't knew you can sing so good!" That's how it starts. I will even perform at "Earthshaker Festival 2005" together with Rhapsody - with over 20 other bands! TV Digital: You are speaking perfectly italian! That was helpful for sure, wasn't it? Christopher Lee: Not just italian. We recorded the song 4 times: in english, german, french and italian! TV Digital: This song is not your first cd. When do you recognize you can sing? Christopher Lee: That was in the 40's. I sang for fun at a party and a man said to me: "Forget acting! You should become an opera singer!" The man was Jussi Björling, at that time he was the biggest tenor in the world. He meant that seriously! TV Digital: Do you have regrets not becoming a singer? Christopher Lee: Oh yes! Even a lot! Unfortunately I cannot afford it that time. It's the thing in my life I feel mostly sorry for. I think as an opera singer I had become as popular as an actor. TV Digital: Is it correct, David Bowie would sing a duet with you? Christopher Lee: Yes, in the 70's. He was Number 1 at that time. But we can't unite what song we should take. TV Digital: Bowie is 58, about so old as you where at that time. Perhaps your music taste came into line - new chance for a duet? Christopher Lee: Perhaps he will hear Rhapsody and again wants to record a song? Who knows? Interview by Michael Tokarski
